General Sarge Build-A-Bear
At the age of 10 we gave our son, Benjamin, and my Mom, Nana Helen Jeffrey, Christmas Gift Certificates for
Build-A-Bear Workshop.
For as long as we can remember, Ben has always wanted to join the Army so it really came as no surprise that his teddy bear was the Sarge bear. On his 18th birthday in August 2010, he joined the Army as an active duty soldier. He headed off for Basic Training at Fort Benning, GA in January 2011 with an MOS of 11-Bravo Infantry Division. He graduated from Fort Benning on April 28-29, 2011.
PV2 Benjamin Jeffrey is currently assigned to active duty at Fort Lewis, Washington, just outside of Seattle. He reported for duty at Fort Lewis on May 18, 2011. That will be his new home for at least three years.
Through the years what was the original Sarge bear from the BABW collection saw a lot of wear and tear. For Christmas 2010 we decided it was time for Sarge to get a new uniform. Little did we know when we bought the new uniform, Sarge was receiving a promotion from just plain Sarge to General Sarge.
Ben instantly recognized the promotion!
Ben and I then decided it would be fun to chronicle the daily life ofGeneral Sarge while he’s away. So what you will find on this blog are the Chronicles of General Sarge.

PFC Benjamin Jeffrey is our son. He's an active duty soldier currently with the 2nd Brigade Infantry stationed at FT Lewis, WA. When Ben was 10 he made a Build-A-Bear who is now General Sarge. This blog chronicles General Sarge's daily activities with me while Ben is away serving our country.
