Military Child of the Week - Bailey Parker

Today is a very special Military Child Salute as we give a big “Two paws up” to Bailey Parker and her entire family.

Bailey is 5 years old and in July of this year she was diagnosed with cancer. While there’s a lot of technical descriptions for her cancer, Bailey recently underwent surgery at St. Jude’s Hospital in Memphis, TN, where she will be for a number of months undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

Her Daddy is SSGT Will Parker with the U.S. Marines who is currently stationed in Pensacola, Florida. Of course right now he’s on leave as SSGT Parker and his whole family are in Memphis to be near the hospital with Bailey.

St. Jude Bear's For Deployment

While Bailey is undergoing her treatment at St. Jude’s, her Daddy, Mommy and two brothers – 7 year old Jaymes and 1 year old Mason – have all moved to Memphis too. I did speak with SSGT Parker a while ago and he said the Marines are in the process of transferring him to the Memphis area since Bailey will have a long stay at St. Jude’s Hospital.

Thanks to those who support the Gift-A-Bear Campaign here at General Sarge HQ we are actually sending out three bears to St. Jude’s this week. Here I am with the bears ready for deployment! We picked out the pink Marine bear especially for Bailey!

Would You Like To Sponsor A Trading Card?

As you may know we also have a series of special General Sarge Trading Cards here at General Sarge HQ too. We would like to do a card for these bears going to Bailey and her brothers at St. Jude’s Hospital. Would you like to help? We’re actually running a special for the production of what we plan to call the “St. Jude Sarge” card.
