Military Child of the Week Salute – Adeliena & Eoghan Burket
Monday, July 2, 2012

We are getting back into the swing of things here at General Sarge HQ with our weekly Military Child of the Week Salute! It’s been a while as there’s been lots going on around here the past few months. We’ve been streamlining some departments and launching new campaigns too! More on that in the coming weeks but for now lets get onto our salute!

The Burket Family

Today we salute Adeliena and Eoghan Burket!

This is a picture of Adeliena, her little brother along with her Mommy and Daddy. We took this picture while visiting California for the great Celebrate The Military Child Holiday Bonanza event this past December.

Adeliena’s Daddy – Mickey Burket – is a Petty Officer 2nd Class with the U.S. Navy based out of San Diego. As you can see she loves to cuddle with her Daddy.

As a matter of fact, Adeliena’s mother writes – “Adeliena loves all colors and anything Barbie! She’s also our little talker and cuddler!”

Do You Know A Military Child To Nominate?

If you’d like to nominate a military child for our weekly salute it’s very easy to do! Each child that is nominated is also eligible to receive one of our special Build-A-Bear Workshop Military Teddy Bears too made possible through our Gift-A-Bear Campaign.

In the meantime we once again say congrats to this weeks Military Child – Adeliena! Be watching the mail for that special Navy teddy bear that’s coming your way!

    My granddaughter,Addison, who is 20 months old keeps asking for her daddy. Her daddy was Kia in Afghanistan on May 30, 2012. He was a Mwd handler. She.keeps looking for her daddy; you see, her mother is in the Navy,too and Addison sees quite a few sailors that remind her of him. She also was just diagnosed with type 1 diabetes two weeks ago. A navy teddy bear would give her comfort and he can take his shots at the same time she does which is three times a day. This will help Addison and her mommy, Allie Brazas, who live in Bremerton, Wa.

    • Hi Patricia;
