Day 232: Military Child of The Week Salute

Military Child of The Week Salute – December 4, 2011
As most of you know we’ve been traveling this past weekend. Today we are making our way back to General Sarge HQ. we’ve had a great time in San Diego and of course need say a great big thank you to all the wonderful people we’ve met. A special thanks to Faith Vera and her family for hosting us at their home too.

We took lots of pictures so be watching for those in the days ahead too. We also gathered a lot of nominations and pictures for our Military Child of the Week Salute too.

Seven Gift-A-Bears To Military Children
We were the first stop for all the military families that came into the Holiday Bonanza. As they came through we took pictures and gathered entries for the weekly salute. There were also hourly draws for various door prizes and we gave away 7 bears. The military children were thrilled to get a new furry friend right there!

Thanks to all the people who have been donating teddy bears to the Gift-A-Bear Campaign. The smiles on the faces of the kids who received the bears on Saturday and the excitement of the parents is hard to describe. We wish you could have all been here to experience that first hand. Now through the generous support of all those donating bears we will be able to deploy furry friends to the children throughout the year who are nominated too.

As General Sarge always says – “Two paws up!”
