Military Child Follow-Up – August 29, 2011
It’s Monday and that means it’s time for our Military Child of the Week Salute here at General Sarge HQ. This week we’re doing something a little bit different. We are so blessed to have this opportunity to bring smiles and encouragement to military families. We are also meeting some great people who are supporting the Gift-A-Bear Campaign by donating bears! Later this week we’ll have a special “Two paws up” post for them too.
Today it’s my honor and privilege to do a follow up report on one of our past Military Child Salutes. On August 15 we saluted Jamie Bacigalupo who’s Dad is currently stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas. When her Mom sent this picture to me she said:
“Jamie is loving him! She hasn’t put him down yet and is having so much fun!” On her Facebook page Jamie’s Mom wrote: “She is checking out each bit of it and saying it will be her dad the next time he’s deployed. She’s walking around clutching him.”
We are absolutely thrilled that Jamie’s “General Sarge Gift-A-Bear” arrived for deployment at her house which is now his permanent station. She also wrote a great post over on Jamie’s Angels4Epilepsy site.
Nominate A Child For The Military Salute
A military child is a special person who sees many transitions in life. We are honored to salute them here on General Sarge every Monday and thrilled to receive such great reports back too.
Remember, it’s easy to nominate a military child for our weekly Military Child of the Week Salute.
Each child that’s nominated has an opportunity to win their very own Military Build-A-Bear at the end of the year. That means if a Military Child Salute nominee doesn’t get a bear the week they’re nominated, they could still receive a bear at the end of the year when we make our draw from the names of those we’ve saluted here. When filling out the Contact Form please be sure to check the box “Military Child of the Week Nomination”.
Staying Army Strong!
