Night Maneuvers – April 14, 2011
It’s hard to believe that we are on Day 89 of our General Sarge journey here. That means Ben is preparing to graduate from his Basic and AIT Training very soon. Actually, this is pretty much his last week of hard training. Next week they start what’s called recovery. It’s time to clean their sleeping area, weapons and clothes. They will turn in old clothes and get new uniforms all in preparation for graduation at the end of this month.
With that in mind, Ben is actually working really hard this week and that also brings us to the subject of the picture for today. Ben had his phone last weekend so we spent quite a bit of time talking. He said the big plans for this week, heading out on maneuvers ALL week. They actually headed out last Sunday afternoon and will return back to the barracks tomorrow, Friday.
Of course General Sarge is always interested in what his human-owner is doing and as soon as he heard PVT Ben was on maneuvers he knew that would also mean being out at night. Today when I came home I found General Sarge sitting in the dark with his glow in the dark compass. I’m pretty sure Ben does not have a glow in the dark compass like this one. But I do know General Sarge has fond memories of his training time as he worked his way up through the bear ranks to become a General Sarge.
Help Us Get To Fort Benning
We’re very excited about Ben’s upcoming graduation, but we’re also asking for help to off-set our costs to Fort Benning. There are now two ways you can help us as we prepare for the trip.
- Take Part in the P90X/Bear Dare and buy the P90X program here
- General Sarge Post Card Coffee Travel Pack
The proceeds from the above purchases go to our
“Families First Campaign”.
Also, if you would like to make a direct tax-deductible donation to us you can do that as well. Just send me an email for information about how to do that.
DS Buff On Vacation
Drill Sgt. Buff is still enjoying her R&R as she gets ready to encourage everyone who takes part in the P90X/Bear Dare. Today she’s really relaxing though.
Here she is in Charlestown getting ready for a carriage ride! I’m sure it was a fun time! I’m also sure DS Buff will be full relaxed and refreshed and ready to help us all go from “Fluff to Buff” on May 1st too.
Staying Army Strong!
